Disclaimer: this installment is for the sole purpose of entertainment both the author and the readers.
I do not intent to make money of it, so please don't sue me.
All characters unless noted otherwise are the property of J.R.R. Tolkien.

It's Tolkien's fault. Had he given us more female Elves to work on....
As it is we must deal with what we have - not that we care. :-))

Rating: R/NC-17

Summary: In the wake of Elrond's council solitary Erestor finds a new love ....and an old one returns unexpectedly.
Slight SM, lots of drama and some sex. Be warned and prepared...

Author's note: this is the result of an RPG, so not solely written by me but by Lady Phoenix as well.

Archieve: as long as we know: yes.

Feedback: YESSSSSS! It keeps us going!

Pairing: Erestor/Lindir, Erestor/OMC

Meanwhile at Mt. Taniquetil, in Manwe's palace:

"Ah, cousin, what brings you here from your remote, cold dwelling?" Manwe greeted Namo who only on rare occasions left his Halls of Waiting.

"'Tis that Firstborn again. The one your little servant Olorin kept alive a short while ago despite all of your orders." Namo growled, referring to Erestor's tortures as a captive in Sauron's hands during the Battle of the Last Alliance.

Manwe chuckled softly. "So, what is he up to now? I still don't quite understand your obsession with him anyway."

"I am not to be defied!" Namo gritted.

"Nobody defies you." Manwe responded. "I would not have that. - Well nobody except maybe Beren, Luthien and, well, this obnoxious Gondolindrim.....what was his name?"

"Glorfindel."

"Ah, yes, Glorfindel. And he did not exactly defy you - you wanted yourself rid of him and quickly so. You did not even wait for his fea to be purged and a new body waiting for him." Manwe now assumed form for it was then easier to arch an eyebrow. In return Namo did the same, showing pale skin like alabaster with long blue-black hair as a stark contrast.

"Why, now, you even look like that child you don't like." Manwe laughed. "Is that why you dislike him so much? That he looks like you?"

Namo snorted deprecatingly. As if he, one of the mightiest among the Valar, would envy one of the Eldar. Ridiculous!

They turned their gazes to Imladris where they saw three elves engaged in what at first sight looked like a bit of a frolicking threesome. "No! What are they doing?" Manwe exclaimed when he realized those three elves were obviously trying to instantiate bonds among them.

Namo purred like a cat that had just had a bowl of cream "I shall finally summon him. And not him alone: that husband of his is to be the first. If Erestor survives at all, he is going to die from grief. Which will certainly grant me Lindir as the third - he should have been mine weeks ago anyway. Yet this Erestor again crossed my plans. And now he is going to put an end to all this himself. Little fool."

Manwe was quite silent for a while. Eventually he spoke again "What makes you so sure?"

"He is forging a new bond. The old will be severed, Daerdion will die in a few minutes." Namo said triumphantly. That death would start an inevitable sequence of more dying.

"It is clear they are trying to ADD a new bond to the existing." Manwe said matter-of-factly.

"Then Erestor dies today. His fea will be torn to pieces from the two competing bonds. I shall finally have him summoned." Namo said with great satisfaction.

"And the others?"

"They would follow him soon. Had Erestor really died in the Nirnaeth, Daerdion would have followed him immediately or vice versa. But they both never understood why they lived on without the other. Lindir - at this moment he is too weak to support himself. The Shadow would kill him if not the grief." Namo snorted. Despite all knowledge the Eldar had always tried to acquire, some things had never transpired.

"You seem impatient, Namo."

"He is long overdue!"

"I beg to differ. There are no lists with names and dates. Erestor lives because that was what had happened -"

"If that little fool of yours, Olorin, had not meddled with what went on, he would have been mine millennia ago!" Namo hissed.

"Now, now. Olorin paid dearly for what he had done. And you do not actively seek out those who are due. It is your task to go and call to the fea once it is severed from the body, not the other way 'round." Manwe reminded Namo.

The Lord of the Halls of Waiting scowled.

"Do you realize that nobody had ever tried what they are just about to do?" Manwe pointed out.

"Because it cannot work."

"Ah, but what IF? It is quite clever, isn't it, to create two bonds at the same time so that none is truly severed? It might even work..." Manwe mused.

"No way."

"If you are so certain, why not place a bet?" the mightiest of the Valar cocked his head.

"What stake?" Namo was immediately interested, being sure he would win.

"Let's see..." Manwe pursed his lips "Since you seem so obsessed with Erestor's fea, he shall be yours forever. His fea shall not be reborn and instead keep you company until the end of Arda. Do with him as you like."

"That is well." Namo extended his hand but Manwe continued.

"If they manage what they attempt, then I shall request that you return Ithilion's fea any time soon. Find an adequate body of proper age and return him." Manwe thought this to be a wonderful idea and looked extremely pleased.

"What? I shall put this fea into an adult body? You are asking a lot, cousin! First it was this mortal - Beren - and then Luthien and you promised to never again ask such of me. Then Glorfindel -"

"You virtually kicked him out, Namo."

"Anyway, now you again ask such of me! Why?"

"Because it's a bet. It is the nature of a bet that the stake is of a certain ..... value. And why are you so upset in the first place? I thought you were sure to win this."

"Humph. You are right. The bet is placed. Erestor will soon be mine forever." the two Gods shook hands and immediately traveled to Imladris, shadows hovering in shadows of Erestor's room, to witness firsthand the outcome of what those three elves dared to try.
